A note from the executive Director: 'Congratulations to the Arlington Argyles on winning the 2017 Summer Championship- earned by defeating the Arlington Kings in their playoff match 3-1. Both teams did well to get to the playoff match, well played by both, but just a bit better at the end for the Argyles!'

A note from the executive Director: ' The simple part first, we have a clear champion in the Amateur as The Knight's Watch drew their final round to finish 3-1! Well done, well played, congratulations!! As for the Open, we have a 3-way tie for first place, so there will be a playoff match Friday September 15 at Arlington Chess Club. Per DCCL Tiebreaks, next, after the Match Points (3-1 for each team) is Board Points. Arlington Argyles/11.0, Arlington Kings/10.5, and Sterling Sacs/8.5 A good season for Sterling Sacs, but third place on the tiebreak. Leaving Argyles and Kings, and as Argyles have more Board Points, 11.0-10.5, it will be Argyles as Host for the Title Match. With draw odds, so we will have a champion decided this Friday the 15th!
